Had some great walks, really good meal at the Britannia and one with dog at the Kings Head at Llangennith - dogs welcome. Buff, Martin, Kit, Mac and Lily the Bearnese. (Great Kingshill, High Wycombe)24/2/08

We've had the most relaxing time and felt completely at home. The Cottage is beautiful, and Heather and Dai have put in so much effort. We'll certainly be coming back. Thanks you so much! Sophie and John. (Bath) p.s. the DVD selection is fantastic! (and thanks for helping to keep it a surprise for John's birthday! he loved it!). 2nd March 2008

March 2008. Thanks for a lovely holiday - the cottage is fab and we've had a great time. Thanks, Paula, Tom & Baby Stanley xxx (Bristol) p.s. the chocolate brownies in "our shop" are bloomin amazing.

If you fancy a long walk from the doorstep head out over the hill to Rhossili and back along beaches & headland. Even on a stormy day it was fantastic. As was the food at the Britannia, really lovely meal. So much to do from the doorstep, down to Cwm Ivy then keep on to the pine forests, beautiful even under grey skies. Great read, cakes & produce at "Our Shop" - well done the villagers for keeping it going! 8/3 - 15/3 2008 Gayle, Dan and dogs Rufus and Tilly (Welshpool, Powys).

Wonderful to spend a week in my childhood home village in such a beautiful cottage with all the comforts of home. Have eaten lots of chocolate brownies from 'our shop' - ditto to other comment before! Had very good food at the Greyhound in Oldwalls - Highly recommend it! For those wanting rockpools + a beautiful beach to occupy children - and a coffee for mums and dads - go to Caswell Bay. Thanks Dai + Heather for everything. Kathy, James, Larissa, Frema, and Aalmay Donnelly x (Shawbury, Salop) p.s. check out the animals behind 'the Brit' (Britannia Inn). 24/3 - 29/3/08

29/3/08 - 5/04/08 A lovely place to stay on our first visit to Gower - and I'm sure we'll be back. Beautiful weather and empty beaches; couldn't believe it was the easter holidaysd! Would recommend surfboard/equipment hire from PJ's in Llangennith, tried to book a lesson with WSF, but not enough takers so we just had a go ourselves - much more fun!! (but much less success...) A really relaxing week; Dai and Heather are natural hosts. Thanks for everything. Kyla, Martin, Sally and Casey (dog). (Lancaster)

05 - 12th April 2008

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. Thank you to Dai & Heather for being great hosts. Our first visit to Gower, but it certainly will not be our last. SO much to see, but not enough time in 1 week. Some great walks (Worms Head, Llanmadoc Hill). The Chocolate Factory is well worth a visit (especially for children).

Kevin, Rachel & Sophie Osborne. (Cosham, Portsmouth).

12-15th April 2008

We have had a lovely time, the cottage is a real home from home with som many nice things, lovely bedding and dishes, amazing DVDs and thoughtful extras. The views from the hill at the back are amazing, the village shop is great. Doesn’t open till 10am but great beer and seedy rools as well as the famous chocolate brownies. It is so quiet and unspoilt in the village love the roaming sheep! Hope to come again ,

p.s. it’s the best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in a cottage, well done for home cooking.

21st to 25th April 08

The three of us so enjoyed all the long walks from Rhossili, Three Cliffs, Port Eynon Bay, Caswell and a few more, only had 4 days to fit so many wonderful places to see. After walking for 8 hrs each day, it was so great to come back to such a lovely and comfortable cottage to relax. We would love to come back but so many places to see in the Uk, just wish we could take this wonderful cottage with us. Heather and Dai are lovely people, Tina, Steve, and Buster (The Lab) from Lydiard, Millecent, Wilts.

25th April – 28th April 2008

Thank you for making our holiday relaxing and fun. A wonderful beautiful cottage, cosy – my brother and sister want to take the fireplace back with them. First time in Gower and for three of us first time in Wales. It most definitely will not be the last Wonderful views – walks and places to see not enough time to see them all. We most certainly will be back. Ayse, Zara, Leigh, Tony and Tina.  (Christchurch, Dorset)

3rd May to 10th May 2008

First trip Wales and we were not disappointed at all. Fantastic beaches walks, weather was warm and sunny. The cottage is 1st class, very clean, modern and many pots and pans and crockery to make a splendid meal. It was perfect to have the choice ok of a BBQ, or a candlelit meal. Beautiful cottage, we will recommend it to all we know  - thanks for a great memory.

Martyn and I have done many holiday lets, this has to rate amongst the best  - its very homely and very clean. The facilities are great and have contributed to a restful week for us. We were also made to feel that we could approach Heather or Dai at any time if we needed to. We can highly recommend “The Britannia Inn” fab food and friendly staff. Martyn and I would like to wish you both continued success in this venture, Thank You!

17th – 24th May 08

Lots of walking, lots of sleeping, lots of eating. We shall be sad to leave Gower – we hoped it would be a beautiful place and we were not disappointed. The wild flowers on the burrows + the cliffs were wonderful. A super weeks holiday.

31st May – 7th June 2008

A fabulous week of walking and relaxing in a wonderful cottage, we’ve had many many cottages holidays but this one takes the prize for the most well equipped. Thanks for creating a real home from home. Walking over Rossili Down to Hillend & back along the beach (so good we did it twice), and across the hill to Llangennith, lunch sat outside the Kings Head in nthe sunshione and bacxk along the beach (returning home), all fantastic walks right from the door. Food at the Britannia was really good, we did that twice too! Creatures of habit! We are relaxed and the doggies are exhausted, the sign of a prefect holiday. Thanks !

7th June to 14th June 08

Our first time in the Gower but it wont be the last. The village is lovely and easy to explore from. Sadly at my age (80) unable to do all the lovely walks around but it didn’t matter. We were made ver welcome and have been warm, well fed, and slept wonderfully too. The cottage is very comfortable and homely and we made full use of the patio too. Meg (the dog ) made herself home quicjkly but was not too keen on the visiting sheep! Great idea Dai – mobile lawnmowers. ! Altogether a very successful holiday and we will be back. Thanks for everything.

June Bilons and Krys McCarthy, Rumney, Cardiff.

14th June to 21 June

Cottage is lovely, very comfortable; location perfect for exploring Gower. Thank you Dai and Heather for being so welcoming and helpful. We’ve had a great week and really enjoyed being here. See you again, !

Lynn, Bob, (Max and Toby). Duston, Northampton,

21st June to 28th June 08

Good location for Gower and lots to do from cottage. Shortest way up the hill at rear is take road past shop, take unmade road under trees, at end of and then last path through bracken on left to last house. Very steep to start with but take right hand path at first choice and then it is gentler. Could wander around the top all day. Joe’s ice cream yummy. Had a good holiday, Anne and Alan & Louisa Horswill, Hertford Heather, Hertford, Hertfordshire

28th June to 5th July 08

This was our first visit to Gower and we were not disappointed. Loved the area and the countryside and fabulous beaches at Rhossili. Three Cliffs and Llangennith. Weather was very kind to us and have even got sduntans. ! Thanks to Dai and Heather the cottage has been so comfortable, it’s the first time neither of us have suffered from bad backs due to uncomfortable beds, so that was a big plus. The cottage is so well equipped and cosy and we felt really welcomed, so many thanks. Hope to come back again sometime. Alyson and Darran Brewood, Middleton, Manchester

5th to 19th July 08

Thank you Dai and Heather for two great weeks in your cottage. We really enjoyed visiting all the beaches with the kids – in particular Port Eynon. The walk to the top of the hill behind the cottage is well worth it as it is the walk to Whitford Sands via Cwm Ivy Woods. The local shop is also fantastic and well worth using. It is run by the villagers and is a brilliant idea. The Britannia Inn is great and we also had a superb meal in the Welcome to Town Restaurant (Llanrhidian). All the best, Jonnie Scarlett, Karen Thomas, Matilda, and Stanley (Herne Hill, London).

19th to 26th July 08

Cottage was perfect  - we were all made very welcome – a real home from home! Dai and Heather have certainly gone that extra mile to make sure their guests have everything they need and more. We would recommend this to anybody wishing to explore the Gower. Weather was glorious, beach was beautiful, beer was cold in the Brit! Hope to see you all again, Paul,.Alison, Ryan, Helen, and Lindsay, Fisher and Shelly, the dog. (Mount Nod, Coventry)

26th July to 2nd August 08

Great week, weather was mixed, but it did not stop us going to the beach. Lots of walks and body boarding – 3 very tired dogs!! Cottage was excellent – as said before “real home from home” Many thanks Dai and Heather, Lynn, Malcolm, Stephanie, and Katie Roddy, (and Billy, Spud and Scouse). Aston on Clun, Craven Arms, Shropshire.

2nd August to 16th August 2008

Despite the disappointing weather, we’ve had a lovely time  - real chance to unwind and enjoy the fabulous beaches and scenery.. The cottage is great and we haven’t watched so many DVDs all year! “Our Shop” is a real gem and we enjoyed all the home made goodies  - scones, cakes, and pasties. Sandra and Alan Coulthard, & Ellie the Retriever.Chelmsford, Essex.

16th-22nd August 08

Lovely cottage, snug & warm in this unusual August weather.  We’ve had 2 glorious days and 4 that could have been November.  Despite this we have had loads to do.  There is so much to explore- the hill behind the cottage is worth the walk in any weather! We did it twice- once in the rain (a great achievement) and once in the sun (amazing views).  The little shop is great- everything you’ll need.  Great brownies and filled rolls for picnics.  The local beach is good for breakfast.  Our favourite beach was Oxwich.  We’ll definitely be back!  Many thanks, Sonia, Jez, George (7) and James (4) Marshall, Tonbridge, Kent.

23rd August- 6th September 08

The sole imperfection was the weather, but we got out every day to the beautiful beaches and walks.  Never walked so much before and feel better for it.  Will be back!

Tony & Myra Rollins, Leek Wootton, Warwick

6th-13th September 08

An ideal spot for lots of wonderful walks.  Very comfortable cottage and beds, enjoyed log burner and DVDs.  What more could you want?  Many thanks.

The Ashelfords & Humphries (plus Bryn & Fiz the dogs, who had a fantastic time). Whissendine, Rutland

13th-20th September 08

We’ve had a wonderful week! Weather made it even better! Really enjoyed Whitford beach (go left once through trees).  Perfectely quiet for a toddler and 2 dogs, and didn’t have to use the car, just the backpack!  Cakes, scones and brownies from ‘Our Shop’ ideal for afternoon tea! Walks over hill at back good too- good views!  Hope others enjoy it as much as we did!

20th-27th September 08

4th-11th October 08

Well equipped and comfy cottage.  Weather turned out good after a wet start!  Lovely beaches.  ‘Our Shop’ excellent – recommend the pasties & brownies.  Went fishing twice but no fish- had a lovely afternoon at Oxwich.  Don’t go to the Britannia Inn on Mondays because they don’t cook.  Would recommend the Greyhound!  Thanks very much, Kathy, John Davison, Sheila, David (& Holly, Daisy & Millie) Weeping Cross, Stafford.

11th-18th October 08

We’ve had a lovely week at the cottage- a perfect place to relax.  I can’t believe how warm it has been for October!  We’ve been for beach walks everyday- the dogs have been in heaven!  Our favourite beach is Oxwich and we pretty much had it to ourselves!  The village shop is great, and we also had a shopping ‘fix’ in the Mumbles.  There are some great shops there, and bizarrely we ended up buying Xmas decorations from Treasure!  And the organic deli did well out of us too!   We enjoyed tea and scones at the café overlooking the lovely Caswell beachg!  It was like a summer’s day!  We’d recommend the fish & chips from Llanrhidian caravan park.  Wish we were staying for another week!  Linda, Alison, Molly & Dylan. Aqueduct Village, Telford

18th to 24th October

A lovely easy comfortable cottage which was just what I needed for rest and relaxation. I have explored many beaches and walks, but actually found the beach right here was the best for the dogs to run free (once I’d found my way around). Miles of sand all to ourselves – unbelievable! I have to agree that the brownies at the shop are great but that’s if you heven’t tried the coffee and walnut cake! – oh, and I forgot about the scones! Altogether a beautiful place. Thanks very much,. Angela C. with Monty & Oscar. Little Baddow, Essex.

25th to 30th October 2008

A lovely week, lots of great walks. “Our shop” is wonderful, we really enjoyed the home made cakes for afternoon tea. Our favourite pub was “The Greyhound” and we liked “Oxwich & Caswell Bay” beaches The walk through Cwm Ivy can’t be beaten for a run off lead for the dog. Thank you for all the home comforts.

Sharon, Nigel & Tom Carey (and Meg the dog!); Guildford, Surrey.

1st – 4th November, 2008.

This was our first visit to Gower and we could not have picked a more comfortable , well-equipped and welcoming cottage, 10/10 to Dai and Heather! We were lucky with the weather & the walks, especially Rhossili with lunch at the Worms Head Hotel quite spectacular. We will definitely be back, so much more to do and see and no where better to stay than Middle Cottage ! Sharon, Steve Lake & Holly the dog. Witney, Oxfordshire.
